STUDY AT RGSL / Admission to the Masters Programmes
RGSL accepts highly qualified students, who are interested in the programmes offered, and who are eligible and qualified to undertake studies at Masters level in English language. Entry requirements vary between the different programmes:

LL.M in International and European Law (one year academic and two-year professional programmes)

LL.M in Public International Law and Human Rights (Open Society Foundation scholarships available)

All available to individuals with a Bachelor, Masters, or equivalent degree in law or related fields, on condition that basic knowledge in law and corresponding work experience is acquired

Available to individuals with a Bachelor, Masters, or equivalent degree in law, business, finance, economics, or related fields

Available to individuals with a Bachelor, Masters, or equivalent degree in law, philology, or related fields. Student grants financed by the Latvian State are available. For detailed information see Rules of Admission.

At least four years of undergraduate or combined with graduate studies are required for access to the one-year Masters programmes. At least three years of undergraduate studies are required for two-year Master programme.

Applicants that are admitted will sign a study agreement and pay tuition fee shortly after admission.
Applicants from countries requiring a visa for Latvia are required to pay a Processing fee of 100 EUR (does not apply to applications from member states of the EU, countries of the European Economic Area and Swiss Confederation).
Studies begin in September.
Applicants must fill out a current ONLINE APPLICATION FORM.
Applicants for the Open Society Foundation scholarships must fill out OSF SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION FORM.
Applicants should deliver the following documents:
- Certified copies of diploma and diploma transcript with an English translation
- Official results of English competency exams: TOEFL, Institutional TOEFL or IELTS not older than 3 years. The required minimum result is 525 points for TOEFL (for a computer test - 196; Internet based test - 69-70) and 5.5 for IELTS. For Legal Linguistics programme: 550 points for TOEFL (for a computer test - 213; Internet based test - 79-80) and 6.0 for IELTS.

- Motivation letter which may also refer to relevant professional experience
An application is considered complete only when the RGSL has received complete application package consisting of all listed documents. Students may be invited for an interview at the discretion of the Admissions Committee.
