Admissions RGSL accepts all students interested in its programmes who are eligible and qualified to undertake studies at Bachelor and Masters level. Studies at RGSL are open to citizens or residents of all countries without any discrimination, if the norms of legislation of the Republic of Latvia and requirements of the Rules of admission are fulfilled. Entry requirements vary between the different programmes. RGSL is fully accredited institution without time limitations. All seven RGSL Masters programmes have received accreditation for 6 years, the two new Bachelor programmes, in accordance with the Latvian law, have received licence for 3 years and during this time period will undergo accreditation procedure. For Bachelor and Masters programmes admission for the academic year 2010/2011 has ended. However, late applications may still be considered on an individual basis where possible. Applications may already now be submitted for the next academic year. Application forms for each Bachelor and Masters programme are available from the Admissions section of each programme webpage. Bachelor programmes: The Law and Business (LL.B) academic programme is available to individuals with a secondary school degree or a degree considered equivalent to an education necessary to undertake studies at RGSL.
The Diplomacy and International Relations (BA) academic programme is available to individuals with a secondary school degree or a degree considered equivalent to an education necessary to undertake studies at RGSL.
Masters programmes: The International and European Law (LL.M) academic programme is available to individuals with bachelor’s or master’s degree in law or related fields, obtained in at least four years long studies, if basic knowledge in law and corresponding work experience is acquired; second level professional higher education, professional bachelor’s or master’s degree in law or other related fields, if basic knowledge in law and corresponding work experience is acquired.
The International and European Law (LL.M) professional programme is available to individuals with bachelor’s or master’s degree in law or related fields, if basic knowledge in law and corresponding work experience is acquired; second level professional higher education, professional bachelor’s or master’s degree in law or other related fields, if basic knowledge in law and corresponding work experience is acquired. The Law and Finance (LL.M) programme is available to individuals with an undergraduate or graduate degree in law, business, finance, or economics.
The Legal Linguistics (MA) programme is available to individuals with undergraduate or professional degree in law or philology, or in other related fields acquired in at least four years long studies.
Public International Law and Human Rights (LL.M) programme is available to individuals with bachelor’s or master’s degree in law or related fields, obtained in at least four years long studies, if basic knowledge in law and corresponding work experience is acquired; second level professional higher education, professional bachelor’s or master’s degree in law or other related fields, if basic knowledge in law and corresponding work experience is acquired.
Transborder Commercial Law (LL.M) programme is available to individuals with bachelor’s or master’s degree in law or related fields, obtained in at least four years long studies, if basic knowledge in law and corresponding work experience is acquired; second level professional higher education, professional bachelor’s or master’s degree in law or other related fields, if basic knowledge in law and corresponding work experience is acquired.
European Union Law and Policy (LL.M) programme is available to individuals with bachelor’s or master’s degree in law, politics or related fields, obtained in at least four years long studies; second level professional higher education, professional bachelor’s or master’s degree in law, politics or other related fields. The tuition fees for studies in programmes for academic year 2010/2011: Teaching language As the teaching language is English, students must demonstrate a strong command of the language. Students whose native language is English or have completed their schooling or first degree at an English-speaking university or institution are generally exempt from the language requirement.
