Guest lecture by Janis Oslejs on euro from the credit taker’s perspective
Janis Oslejs held a guest lecture at RGSL for the students of the Microeconomics course. The subject matter of the lecture was the discussion of euro crisis and EU economic policy from the perspective of the business people. Lecture was based on Janis Oslejs last article ”Eiro krīze un ES ekonomiskā politika” in Rīgas Laiks (November, 2010).
Taking into account that euro loans in eurozone are very often cross-border arrangements, Janis Oslejs will take a look at legal strenght of EU-wide debt contracts. The students will also have an opportunity to ask questions, and to understand how microeconomics knowledge is used by businessmen in real life.
Janis Oslejs is a founder, co-owner and board chair of the company ”Primekss Group”, that is among the largest providers of industrial concrete flooring in Europe, with branches functioning in seven European countries. He is also the co-owner and board chair of companies MolPort.com (2007) and charity www.radosumapils.lv. Even more, he is one of the leading Latvian economists, who is well-known all around Latvia.
