We are looking forward to seeing all of the high school students who have been accepted into the RGSL Excellence school, to the first class already tomorrow, 20 January at 11.00 at our campus on Strēlnieku 4 k-2.
The first class will cover the topic of law, with lectures by our Lecturer Anastasija Kaplane, Visiting Lecturer and Head of the legal department of the Latvian Constitutional Court Kristaps Tamužs, and RGSL Graduate and Visiting Lecturer Kalvis Logins.
The Excellence school will be opened by RGSL Director Ieva Rācenāja.
“We will talk about what “justice” and “legality” mean. Can there be situations when one exists without the other? Should such situations exist?” says Kristaps Tamužs. “We will gain an insight into the toolbox in the possession of lawyers that should be used to attempt to achieve a situation where all solutions would be both legal and just (general principles of law, legal interpretation, further development of law). The lecture will be valuable to anyone who has thought about what the law is. Understanding the topic will help you realize that jurisprudence is much more than the mechanical application of legal norms.”
Next classes will be held on January 27 at 11.00 AM on diplomacy, February 10 at 11.00 AM on business, February 15 (company visit, time and place to be specified), and the conclusion – diploma ceremony and a lecture – on February 17 at 11.00 AM.
In order to successfully complete the RGSL Excellence School and receive a 15% discount on the tuition fee for the first year of studies, you must attend at least three out of four classes by February 15.
