We are pleased to invite you to the seminar “Simplify, but Protect: EU Digital Regulation, Innovation and Human Rights”. Discussion will take place on 13 March 2026, 9.00-13.00 at the Riga Graduate School of Law, W42.
In 2025, the European Union launched significant changes to its digital regulatory framework by introducing the so-called Digital Omnibus approach, aimed at simplifying legislation, reducing administrative burdens and enhancing competitiveness. These developments affect public administration, businesses and society as a whole, while raising important questions about regulatory quality, digital governance and the protection of fundamental rights.
The discussion will explore in depth what digital simplification means in practice, how to balance innovation with the protection of human rights, and how organisations can adapt responsibly to the evolving regulatory landscape.
