Today Deputy Secretary General of NATO Rose Gottemoeller gave a public lecture at RGSL on NATO’s adaptation: key to peace and security. It was a unique opportunity for RGSL students to pose their question directly to NATO leadership.
Apart from reflecting on NATO’s priorities, Ms Gottemoeller emphasised the importance of studying international law in the increasingly complex world of global politics.
RGSL students and staff used every minute of the Q&A session and were interested to hear Ms Gottemoeller’s opinion on security situation in Ukraine, Turkey, Syria, North Korea as well as to learn more about NATO’s responsibility to protect women’s rights in military conflicts. As NATO’s highest serving female official she also talked about professional growth of women in the organisation.
