Last week Riga Graduate School of Law (RGSL) concluded the first session of Baltic-Black Sea Legal Initiative: Empowering Future Ukrainian Lawyers.
A total of 20 participants from various Ukrainian universities participated in two-week-long intensive studies. RGSL lecturers covered the subjects of European Union Integration and Good Governance, and anti-corruption. In turn, the project partners from Sodherton University taught European Union Law, the Protection of Fundamental Rights, and the Principles of Good Administration in the European Union. Besides rigorous academic studies, the participants visited the Occupation Museum of Latvia and the Parliament of Latvia to meet with the Member of the Parliament, Mr Gatis Liepiņš.
The highlight of the Summer School was the reception at the Swedish Embassy in Riga hosted by H.E Ms Azadeh Alian-Söderqvist, the Deputy Head of Mission. During the reception, the participants were also greeted by H.E Dace Melbārde, Parliamentary Secretary of the Latvian Ministry of the Foreign Affairs .
