On 2–3 June 2016 the law firm“bnt attorneys-at-law” invites you to the 5th DIS Baltic Arbitration Days, to be held at Riga Graduate School of Law (RGSL). The event will start on 2 June at 10:00 at the premises of RGSL.
During the conference, international experts will deliver lectures and country reports and will participate in discussion panels on specific issues in relation to the two main conference topics. These are:
1) relations between state courts and arbitral tribunals, and
2) enforcement of arbitral awards.
Conference participants will have a unique opportunity to learn about current trends in Central and Eastern Europe, Germany, Scandinavia, the Baltic States, and other jurisdictions. Last year´s Baltic Arbitration Days attracted over 100 participants from 22 countries and delivered cutting edge advice from experienced international arbitration practitioners.

In addition, the ICC YAF and DIS40 joint seminar will take place prior to the Baltic Arbitration Days. The aim of the seminar is to discuss the UNCITRAL Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration and the various approaches adopted by countries in implementing the Model Law into national legislation. Participants will, for example, witness an Oxford-style debate reflecting on whether a unified or an individual approach is more beneficial in the transposition of the UNCITRAL Model Law into national law. The event will be an ideal forum for young practitioners to exchange views and broaden their network in the region.
