On 28 February PhD candidate in Vilnius University (Lithuania) Jonas Urbanavičius gave a guest lecture on "Environmental Law as the Point of Interaction Between EU Energy Policy and Human Rights" in the framework of the RGSL Masters programme.
The lecture touches upon several main issues: environmental rights (both procedural and substantial); impact of the energy infrastructure projects (that are carried out implementing EU energy policy goals) on the environment, and human health; problems with public participation in implementation of such projects; balance between EU energy policy goals and environmental considerations; arguments taken into account by the EU policymakers in drawing this balance.
