On 10-11 May 2012 initial workshop was held in Vienna to launch four years research project “Member States’ Constitutions and EU Integration”. The overall planning of the project and seven country reports, including on Latvia, were discussed in the duration of two days. RGSL and Latvia was represented in the workshop by Prorector Mārtiņš Mits.
The project is led by the Centre of European Integration, University of Salzburg. The aim is to produce comprehensive reports on each EU member state and Croatia, exploring such questions as constitutional foundations of EU membership, constitutional limits to EU integration, practice of implementing EU law and relationships between EU law and national law. The project will result in a book, covering all EU member states in a systematic way. The book is going to be published in 2016.
