RGSL programme's "Law and Finance" student Baiba Traidase for her thesis is awarded 3rd place in a student research paper's competition organised by the Bank of Latvia
The thesis analyses different implementation schemes established by the national governments for implementation of Structural fund allocations in Belgium, Luxemburg, Poland, Ireland, Estonia and particularly in Wales and provides suggestions on how to develop these mechanisms in Latvia. The Author concludes that Latvia currently runs a very heavy and broad administration of the Structural funds and is overdue in introducing the European legislation.
Comparing situation in Wales and in Latvia the Author offers numerous suggestions for improving Structural fund implementation scheme in Latvia.
