Following the public lecture of Dr. Krisjanis Karins, Latvian Member of the European Parliament, in the RGSL in 17 February, which was organized in the framework of the course European Politics, six students from the RGSL are invited to visit Dr. Karins, to follow the work of the European Parliament during two-days visit to Brussels. The programme includes visit at the plenary hall of the European Parliament, informal discussions with Dr. Karins, as well as acquaintance with the work of the European Parliament and the ways of citizen's interest representation.
Students were selected after they have submitted an essay “European Parliament after the Lisbon Treaty: My personal view of making Europe more democratic”, which was evaluated by Dr.Krisjanis Karins. The following RGSL students have been selected: Santa Bērziņa, Līva Pavasare, Linda-Laima Lappuķe, Georgs Zommers, Matīss Iesalnieks and Rustams Nuhkadijevs. The visit is sponsored by the European Parliament.
