From 4 to 8 August 2014 Riga Graduate School of Law is hosting a seminar "Projekt Netzwerk Ost-West''. Within the framework of the seminar Latvian and German students conduct a joint research in the area of organised crime and its linkages with human rights law, constitutional law, internet and media law and other fields of law. Seminar is organized by the Humboldt University of Berlin (Humboldt Universität zu Berlin) and takes place from 3 to 17 August, one week in Riga and one in Berlin.
Students work in pairs (one Latvian student and one student from Germany) and conduct a joint research on a particular subject, exploring issues of concern given the regulatory framework and other aspects of their country. Research is then presented in pairs and discussed with other participants and tutors. During the first week in Riga participants also visit Latvian Parliament (Saeima) and Iļģuciema prison.
