We are happy to welcome participants of the international Conference “European Private International Law: Is Improvement Needed?” held in Riga, at RGSL premises, on 7–8 June, 2025.
24 academics will attend and speak at the conference discussing the current weaknesses of EU Private International Law (PIL) and share suggestions for improvements, as the European Union (EU) has become a central player in private international law (PIL) on the European continent and the scope of EU PIL is extensive and constantly poses challenges to scholars and courts. The conference is led and organised by the RGSL Associate Professor Dr. Aleksandrs Fillers.
The conference welcomes scholars from Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Italy, Czech Republic, Georgia, Croatia, China, Poland, the Netherlands, Cyprus, Turkey, Belgium, North Macedonia, representing Riga Graduate School of Law, the University of Latvia, Mykolas Romeris University, University of Luxembourg, University of Bologna, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, University of Rijeka, University of Milan, Wuhan University, Jagiellonian University, Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, University of Warsaw, University of Groningen, University of Nicosia, Afyon Kocatepe University, Institute for Private International Law at KU Leuven, Università degli Studi di Pavia, and Ss.
