Riga Graduate School of Law (RGSL) Director of Bachelor Study Programmes, Laura Kadile, PhD, participated at the Helsinki Health Law Days 2025 organised by the University of Helsinki, and together with Assistant Professor Silvia Capíková from the University of Comenius (Bratislava) presented their research results: “Patient Autonomy and Decision-Making Issues in Palliative Care for Patients with Life Threatening Long-Term Health Conditions: Comparative Perspective from Slovakia and Latvia”.
The conducted research shows that Latvia and Slovakia still require fundamental changes to their approach towards palliative care and the protection of patients in this context.
The international conference, 'Helsinki Health Law Days', provided a platform for discussions on the latest developments, practical issues and theoretical challenges in health law from European and international perspectives. This proved to be a particularly rewarding experience, fostering new connections and collaborations that will benefit our students in future visiting lectures.
