We are proud to share that our expert in data protection and administrative law Dr. Aleksandrs Potaičuks, Associate Professor at Riga Graduate School of Law, has published a new academic article in Poland as part of the European Network on Digitalisation and E-Governance (ENDE), currently led by Tallinn University of Technology.
By conducting research at the intersection of EU law, administrative law, constitutional law, and data protection, Dr. Aleksandrs Potaičuks continues to contribute to important discussions on law, human rights and digitalisation in Europe.
The publication, “Commercial Registers as Administrative Databases: Balancing Public Accessibility and Privacy”, explores how commercial registers in Europe balance public access to information with individuals’ rights to privacy and data protection in the digital age. The article also analyses the case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union and highlights key lessons for protecting privacy while maintaining transparency in public databases.
