The Riga Graduate School of Law (RGSL), in cooperation with the Parliament of the Republic of Latvia (Saeima), has developed a specialised study programme for parliamentary representatives from Moldova and Ukraine.
The programme aims to strengthen participants’ understanding of the European Union (EU), its legal and policy frameworks, institutional functioning, and the role of national parliaments in policymaking processes.
Designed for representatives of countries pursuing EU membership, the programme offers interdisciplinary training that combines academic knowledge with practical insights into European integration and parliamentary processes.
A key component of the programme is the opportunity to learn from Latvia’s reform experience over the past 30 years, including its path towards European Union and NATO membership. Through the exchange of knowledge and experience, participants will gain valuable perspectives on institutional reforms, democratic governance, and European integration.
Programme Structure:
The programme consists of four academic courses, delivered through a blended learning format combining online sessions and in-person training.
The programme will take place in three stages:
- 12–16 October: Online learning
- 19–23 October: In-person training
- 2–6 November: Online learning
This format allows participants to engage in academic discussions, exchange experiences, and develop practical knowledge relevant to their work in national parliaments.
Through this initiative, RGSL and the Saeima seek to contribute to institutional capacity-building, knowledge exchange, and closer cooperation with parliamentary representatives from Moldova and Ukraine.
