RGSL Students Reach the TOP 8 at the Sports Arbitration Moot in Madrid!
We are proud to celebrate the achievements of the first-ever Riga Graduate School of Law Sports Arbitration Moot Court Team representing RGSL at the 5th edition of the Sports Arbitration Moot in Madrid.
The team, composed of Kristaps Kārlis N., a second-year LL.B. Law and Diplomacy student, and Miane Le Roux, a first-year LL.M. Law and Finance student, advanced to the elimination rounds and secured a place in the TOP 8 among 76 teams worldwide.
Since the team’s formation in November 2025, countless hours were dedicated to researching sports manipulation, compliance issues, and evidentiary submissions in preparation for the preliminary online rounds held in March.
This achievement would not have been possible without the invaluable guidance of Ayaan Shehryar and the supervision of Prof. Aleksandrs Fillers. We are grateful to RGSL for supporting students in developing advocacy skills within the dynamic and growing field of sports law.
As the team reflects on this journey:
“Nothing good is ever going to happen unless you have the heart and the courage to take the chances!”
