The second session of the “Baltic-Black Sea Legal Initiative: Empowering Future Ukrainian Lawyers” closed with a reception at the AC Hotel by Mariott on 2 May 2025.
The speakers include Ieva Rācenāja, RGSL Director, Dr. Patricia Jonason, Associate Professor of Public Law, Södertörn University and Academic Supervisor of the Programme, Kateryna Hryshchenko, Lecturer, Faculty of Social Sciences, Kyiv School of Economics (KSE) and programme participants Mariia Kushnir and Marharyta Rukhalenko, both from KSE.
The intensive two-week training programme brought together 20 students from Ukraine, offering in-depth courses in EU Law, EU Integration, Human Rights, Good Governance and Anti-Corruption.
The programme is carried out in collaboration between Riga Graduate School of Law, Södertörn University and the Kyiv School of Economics.
The project aims to share Sweden’s academic expertise in EU Law and Latvia’s experience as a relatively recent EU member state. It equips Ukrainian students with vital legal and governance tools as Ukraine moves closer to European integration, helping to prepare them for active roles in their country’s reform process.
The initiative is funded by the Swedish Institute.
