Successful completion of the ERASMUS blended intensive programme (BIP) course: “Securing Compliance in EU Law in Different Areas: Internal Market, Rule of Law, Social and Labour Rights and Criminal Law”.
The programme was organised at Eötvös Loránd University by the Department of International Private Law and European Economic Law and the Department of Criminal Law. Our assistant prof. Laura Kadile provided the lectures on EU Internal health law aspects.
During the online session on 23 February 2026, students were assigned to five thematic groups reflecting the core areas of the course: criminal law, civil law, EU Health law, rule of law and Article 267 TFEU, and social security coordination. The in-person week took place in Budapest between 9–13 March 2026. Within the in-person week multiple lectures were held, as well as student presentations on their research within one of the thematic groups were carried out.
Together with professors from University College Cork, University of Ljubljana, Eötvös Loránd University and Ruhr University Bochum and Riga Graduated School of law, the BIP welcomed students from ELTE, University College Cork, University of Ljubljana, and Ruhr University Bochum, alongside 5 students from Riga Graduate School of Law - Sintija Daukste, Marta Jurkāne, Tina Dansone, Robin Sonnendrucker and Aristarhs Svirko.
Laura Kadile expresses special thanks to prof. Dr. habil. Éva Lukács Gellérné and her team for the invitation.
Marta Jurkāne Y2LB programme student about BIP:
I was very happy that the program brought together so many different and talented professors from various countries. Hearing their perspectives and seeing the different ways in which they approach teaching and research was very inspiring, and it allowed me to better understand how diverse and interesting a career involving academia can be.
Overall, this experience was truly invaluable to me. It combined inspirational academic insights — both about EU law and through observing the different teaching styles of the professors — with ideas for possible future research, studies, or even career paths. At the same time, it was an incredible social experience: becoming friends with people from different countries, knowing that I may visit them in their home countries in the future, and learning much more about their cultures and histories. I am truly grateful for this opportunity.
