Pandemic has disrupted professional lives across the world, affecting people’s jobs, planned career moves and else. Still, we are on our way to somewhere new, but we don’t know what it looks like, writes The New York Times.
Use your time wisely – prepare for the next big thing which will emerge. Riga Graduate School of Law (RGSL) interdisciplinary Masters programmes will help.
Founded in 1998, RGSL has become a springboard for many successful careers in law, diplomacy and business.
“According to a 2017 report of the Institute for the Future, 85% of the jobs that will exist in 2030 haven’t been invented yet. Therefore our challenge is to think ahead and equip our students with the skills allowing to navigate a difficult global job market,” says RGSL Rector Dr. Pietro Sullo.
“I graduated from RGSL in 2011 with Masters degree with merit, majoring in strong interdisciplinary programme of Law and Finance. Looking back at my studies, the most important was the high professional quality of the teaching staff, professors from Latvia and abroad. I would highly recommend Riga Graduate School of Law to anyone looking for education that surpasses the average level in Latvia,” Reinis Bērziņš, Chairman of the Board of Development Finance Institution Altum.

Law and Finance
In today’s interconnected world, national and international financial markets have far reaching effects on individuals and corporations within the EU and globally. The financial sector is becoming increasingly regulated, leading to a need for specialists to work at the intersection between it and the legal field.
Frequently, lawyers and financial specialists face challenges in understanding each other in order to originate and execute deals.
The Law and Finance masters programme aims to address these challenges by equipping both law and finance specialists with relevant knowledge in both areas to facilitate mutual understanding and - eventually - contributing to overall success in business through sustainability, value creation, and strategic commitment.
Upon successful completion of the programme students:
• Will be educated in both law and finance;
• Will gain deep knowledge of the legal regulation of financial instruments and markets.
• Interdisciplinary programme taught in English;
• Student-centered and interactive approach to teaching, which includes seminars, class simulations of real scenarios and development of soft skills;
• Excellent networking opportunities offered by RGSL.
Graduates work as lawyers specializing in financial matters, in financial regulation at national or international level, in investment banking, in public administrations as well as for international organizations and academia.
